END:
July 13, 2008 – We would like to announce that after 6 long years since our first beginnings, Slowly Building Weapons have decided to call it a day. We have always set very high standards for everything we put our name to, and it has become obvious in recent months that we no longer have the drive required to continue the battle. So we have decided that rather than continuing in a less committed way, now is a good time to walk away while we are still on a positive note. From the early days playing weeknight shows at the Arncliffe Hotel, to signing to Soviet Records and recording our album at the amazing 301 studios in Sydney , we have plenty of good memories and achievements to look back on and exaggerate greatly.
Slowly Building Weapons have never been a band that received a great deal of support, especially in our home city, so we’d like to sincerely thank the people who have helped us along the way. Those people know who they are, so making a big list of acquaintances and crucial bands to show how cool we are shouldn’t be necessary. I would however like to like to say special thanks to Tim, Mike, Andrew, Carl, Dugo, Tyson, Al, Brett and Jase. A final big thanks goes out to anyone to has ever supported SBW by coming along to a show or by purchasing a CD or a t-shirt. We will be organising a final show in Sydney in the coming months, so if you have ever been a fan or friend of the Slowlies, you should come out for one last round of blood vomits. Cheers!
